Politics. You can't live with it but can't live without it.
Politics are unfortunately the reason why I was absent from Rounds 3 & 4 of ATCC Season 5 at Watkins Glen last week.
Was really gutted to be informed by league organiser and personal friend Keith Barrick that, due to the agreement with RaceDepartment, people who do not have an account with the website are not permitted to take part in any leagues that use their fourms.
This means that my Volvo S60 with it's amazing liverly provided by friend Michael van Scheppingen won't been see charging round track this season.
What this means for me; well I get more time to focus on the running of my own league at http://www.simracingpro.com/ where I run a BTCC style league using the Touring Car Revolution mod.
I hope to be back for Season 5. I won't take this as a defeat and will just come back stronger and challenge the front runners so that I can bring Scotland back to the front of the American Touring Car Championship.
Catch ya all next time.

Sod's Law is the call of the day.
Well, my first round ruined really due to things outside of my control.
During the official practice session, just before the qualifying session, my throttle sensor died, so my throttle was just un-responsive, making it completely un-useable.
So I was left with either using a button for my throttle or my very heavy clutch pedal due to having installed the great Nixim2 mod to my brake and clutch pedals.
So with an extremely heavy throttle pedal now, I leave the garage for quali at what I would consider a good time to leave to take advantage of the warmer track in the session, but the slow out lap caused by the heavier throttle killing my exit and mid-corner speed, I ended up not completing my quali hot lap and had to start right from the back.
I did get some luck as on lap 2, the first racing lap after the rolling start lap, there was chaos at turns 1 and 2 allowing me to climb to 10th place. Amazing, something I never expected after my qualifying.
Then even with my horrible throttle pedal, I was holding my ground well enough, but then ofcourse, I just had to have some bad luck. My computer decided to try and update it's Microsoft shit, making my game lag out and sit still on the straight, dropping me from 10th right down to 21st.
I carry on and keep up my determination and gain a few places near the end of the race through other falling off track or having difficulties of their own and myself knowing how my car will drive after the mandatory two tyre pit stop giving me a well balanced car that I can push.
I end up finishing in 17th place which of course is much lower than me and my car deserve. But I guess that's racing sometimes. Roll on Race 2.
Though Race 2 wasn't much better if not worse actually.
The Volvo S60 struggles to get away from a standing start so I lose a place or two before we even get down to turn 1.
I keep my determination and despite my lack of speed through corners due to not being able to apply power as fast as I would normally, I manage to keep up with most of the pack and enjoy some good racing.
Though unfortunately, a few laps after the pit stop, I'm having a good battle with Rhys Gardiner, a good friend of mine, until were rudely interrupted by a Portuguese punting us off trying to make an impossible overtake.
A real shame because due to the positions I lost due to the time I was off track, I may drop out of the top server, the place where I deserve to be because I have the speed, I have the race craft and a great team backing me up.
So after the first night of racing, Icome away with mixed emotions on my performance, some driver's standards towards league racing and a very tired right leg after havin to hold down a cluth pedal at full throttle for the majority of the 22 racing laps I competed in tonight.
Roll on Rounds 3 & 4 at Watkins Glen, I hope I'm still in server 1.

The Start of my Triumph in ATCC
Tonight, 14/01/2012 I take part in the opening round of the American Touring Car Championship, run by Touring Pro Series.
One if not, THE online sim racing league in Race 07 for competitiveness and excitement.
This is my second season and after a tough debut season where my speed was shown, but I struggled due to my lack of experience and race-craft.
I now return much more mature this season with more speed, better race craft, a team, a new car that suits me better and with much more experience.
I won't accept it if I don't come away from the season without winning at least one race. I am out to prove myself.
I expect to have a great time this year. Follow me here with the live broadcast found here.
